How many people does it take to load your horse into a trailer?
It should take only one.
Are you spending more time loading your horse than you are
pulling him in the trailer?
If it's taking more than a few minutes.............something is
wrong!
Are you walking in, leading your horse in behind you?
That's very dangerous. What if something spooks the horse,
and he lunges forward on top of you?
That bucket of grain not doing the trick?
He's not loading because it's not a hunger issue,
I've been there, done that. I am so angry at how much money I
wasted with so-called trainers, trying every idea under the sun:
I've tried loading with three people - one pulling the horse, one
holding a rope around his rear, and one using a crop on his butt
(hey what if I was by myself!).
I even spent 5 hours after a horse show trying to load him (true
story).
One trainer took me for three $50 lessons, while standing in
the trailer with a bucket of grain, trying to coax the horse
onto the trailer. And he never went all the way on - just went
on enough to reach the grain.
Another fellow rider suggested a cattle prod (no way!)
Another suggested that we pull from the front and poke him
in the hindquarters with a pitch fork (double no way!).
Finally, I got lucky and was taught the proper technique to
teach my horse to load himself.
It is so easy, I can guarantee my work. I am averaging under
30 minutes in training time and no one has had problems
following the simple instructions.
Don't waste your money with other rope pulling, pitch fork,
cattle prod, bucket of grain empty promises.
